Monster High Hitting Retail in Force

Around the holidays, you'd have been hard pressed to find even a single Monster High doll at retail. Fans began to get fed up with seemingly poor distribution and lack of product available even online, leading Toys R Us to post signs that you would only be allowed to buy limited amounts of product as it came in; an effort to stem the tide of scalpers buying an entire shipment in one go most likely. In the early months of 2012, product began creeping back to shelves and though Toys R Us attempted to fill that black hole of product anticipation with heaps of an exclusive Black and White doll, in time, even that has disappeared from shelves. Conclusion? FANS WILL EVEN BUY STRAIGHT REDECOS!

Now we are post San Diego Comic-Con, and those items that I thought were future releases (and were marked as such) are already in stores, in force. The Skultimate Roller Maze with Ghoulia Yelps, Frankie Stein, Operetta and Lagoona Blue have bypassed their Fall 2012 drop date and can be acquired as we speak. Also scheduled for a Fall release were the "Ghouls Rule" assortment with Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Cleo de Nile, Clawdeen Wolf and Abbey Bominable (the Walmart exclusive doll)...but those have dropped as well. Target are putting out their Scarily Ever After exclusives with Snow Bite (Draculaura), Little Dead Riding Wolf (Clawdeen Wolf) and Threadarella (Frankie Stein). You'll also find new drops with Spectra Vondergeist, C.A. Cupid, Rochelle Goyle and Operetta, giving fans grumbling over the holes in their collections a chance to snap up those sought after spooky ladies.

So that begs the question....what the hell was NEW at SDCC 2012??!! Here's the breakdown...

Headless Headmistress Bloodgood : A Toys R Us Exclusive - Available Spring 2013
Super Hero Doll assortment with Spectra Vondergeist & Clawdeen Wolf : A Target Exclusive - Available Spring 2013
Catrine DeMew : A Walmart Exclusive - said to also be getting a Spring 2013 release

Also on the way is the Dot Dead Gorgeous assortment with Abbey Bominable, Draculaura, and Ghoulia Yelps, also scheduled for release Fall of 2012 which should put them on shelves....tomorrow? With new characters like Venus McFlytrap and Robecca Steam proving the designers are not even close to running out of original ideas, Monster High looks to have a long un-life ahead of it.
